Gardner Denver

Female networking groups

As a leading global provider of mission–critical flow creation and compression equipment, we recognize that women remain underrepresented in the industry and face several challenges. As one of our strategic pillars, “Deploy Talent - attracting and retaining talent”, we are tasked to continually provide an environment for our female colleagues that supports their individuality, growth and ability to excel to their fullest potential.

Within our Energy Segment, our Petroleum and Pump business created the Women in Petroleum Pumps (WiPP) group in the USA and our Medical Segment kicked off a D&I networking event for emerging female leaders in China.

The mission of the WiPP group is to provide female employees with a support system for mentorship, building business relationships, and also provide guidance and support in all aspects of career development.

The objective of the Medical Emerging Female Leaders networking event is to create a forum for an open dialogue about women in leadership roles, the challenges they face, and how they can achieve success in both their personal and professional lives as well.

In March, 2019, the WiiP group held its first event in Houston where, numerous female employees gathered from across the USA and shared insights, listened to engaging presentations and participated in panel discussions led by internal subject matter experts and guest speakers.

In the same month, the Medical Emerging Female Leaders event took place where several women met from across China shared their stories, surfaced challenges and took part in a panel discussion led by a female executive guest speaker. Both events were very well received among the participants and were showcased on the company’s global intranet site. These are the just the first steps on this important path at Gardner Denver. The teams are now working on developing a action program for WiiP and extending the Medical Emerging Female Leaders program to Europe and USA as well to underscore the positive impact on female employees.
