Employee Resource Groups at John Wiley & Sons

Challenge

To create a more inclusive and empowered culture that goes even farther to enable Wiley global colleagues drive impact for within our research and education communities.

Actions

We expanded our employee resource groups to build community, celebrate culture, and advocate for our diverse communities. Employee resource groups (ERGs) are the voice of our global colleagues and now reflect more of our cultural communities and common interests. Wiley’s global ERGs include: Generation Wiley (focused on professional development), Lean In (focused on women in the workplace), LGBTQ+Pride, and two recently launched ERGS, Berg (focused on the interests of Black employees) and Wiley Women in Technology.

Outcomes

Our global ERGs continue fostering our innovative and strong values-based culture – driven by the passion of our 7,000 global colleagues – to drive our business and mission forward. They play integral advisory role for our Enterprise Diversity Committee as we strive to make Wiley a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.
