CSRA Affinity Groups and Networks

Challenge

Employee Resource Groups were in existence at both legacy companies that came together to form CSRA, but needed to be reestablished and socialized following the merger.

Actions

To ensure accountability across the ERG community, we created consistent guidelines for ERG activities and events, focused on three pillars: supporting the business, developing yourself and giving back to the community. Each ERG works within these parameters to have aligned, yet individual, goals and events. Leads created charters, calendars of events, and programs desired by their members. Additionally, we have socialized the ERGs through internal communications around relevant celebrations such as Hispanic Heritage Month, the National Day of Prayer and PRIDE month, and lunch-and-learn events.

Outcomes

We’ve seen a dramatic increase in ERG membership and activities across the organization, along with robust conversations via CSRA communication systems. In order to continue to foster this growth, we are planning a fall 2017 showcase to highlight current ERGs and activities.

ERG leads were instrumental in the creation, and now socialization, of the D&I POV, and the groups exemplify our focus on inclusivity.

Here at CSRA, we believe fundamentally in people first.  CSRA’s Employee Resource Groups provide insights into how people are feeling, support for our business with innovative ideas and programs, and outreach into our communities. They embody our commitment to Think Next. Now.
